Philly Soccer Show: C.J. Sapong and The Revs
By Greg Orlandini
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (CBS) -- He's quickly becoming a fan favorite! Union forward CJ Sapong joins KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch on this week's KYW Philly Soccer Show.
The former MLS Rookie of the Year, acquired from Sporting KC in the offseason, scored his first goal for Philadelphia in Thursday's 1-1 draw at NYCFC.
He then earned a start last Sunday against New England, at PPL Park, the whole time playing with a protective mask due to a facial fracture.
After their chat with CJ Sapong, Eli and Greg discuss the Union's home defeat against the New England Revolution, 2-1.
The Union opened the scoring with a brilliant free-kick goal in the first half from Cristian Maidana. They held the lead until after the beginning of the second half, when two unanswered goals from the Revs sealed the deal.
The Union face the Columbus Crew in Ohio this Saturday.
