Start time of Philadelphia Phillies-Cincinnati Reds Wednesday game delayed due to weather
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The start time for Wednesday's Philadelphia Phillies-Cincinnati Reds game has been delayed again due to the weather forecast. On Tuesday night, the Phillies pushed back the game time to 4:05 p.m. from 1:05 p.m., but the team says Wednesday the anticipated start time for the game will be between 7:30 and 7:45 p.m.
The Philadelphia region is currently in the midst of a two-day storm system bringing waves of rain, with another 1.37 inches added to the bucket Tuesday.
Wednesday's forecast calls for another 1-2 inches possible in overall totals, but some parts of the region could get even more than that. The most active period of rain Wednesday will likely be between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A Flood Watch is in effect for almost the entire region until 6 p.m. Thursday.
The Phillies said they moved the game back to give both teams the best chance at completing the series.
All fans who purchased tickets and parking for Wednesday's game will be able to use them despite the start time getting moved, the Phillies said. The gates will open at Citizens Bank Park at 2:35 p.m.
Fans who purchased tickets for the original 1:05 p.m. game from third-party sites, including SeatGeek, should attend the 4:05 p.m. start time.
The Phillies said fans who purchased a ticket for Wednesday's game will receive a special 2024 ticket offer early next week.
The Phillies beat the Reds on Tuesday night, 9-4, after Bryce Harper smacked three home runs, including a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning.
