Phillies Top Pick Moniak Agrees To Deal

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies announced, on Monday, that the organization agreed to a deal with their 2016 top pick, Mickey Moniak.

The 18-year-old outfielder was taken with the first overall pick out of La Costa Canyon High School in California.

Moniak was regarded as one of the top high school hitters in the nation. He stands at 6'2″ 185 lbs.

The Phillies' latest top pick is a left-handed bat and throws righty.

In high school, Moniak posted a .435 batting average and seven home runs in 97 at bats. He stole 19 bases.
