Phillies Acquire Jimmy Paredes From Blue Jays

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Phillies acquired infielder/outfielder Jimmy Paredes from the Blue Jays for cash considerations, the team announced on Wednesday.

Paredes, 27, is 4-15 this season with one homer and two RBI's in seven games with Toronto.

For his career, Paredes -- a switch-hitter -- has hit .257/.294/.373 in six seasons with the Astros, Royals and Orioles. He hit .275 with 10 homers and 42 RBIs in 2015 while playing 104 games for the Orioles.

The Phils designated Emmanuel Burris for assignment to make room for Paredes.
