Philadelphia's Top Bars To Watch College Basketball

The best part about March for many basketball fans is the NCAA tournament, dubbed "March Madness." With a ton of colleges in Philadelphia, the excitement will be felt at many bars across the city. Looking for a bar to watch college basketball? Here are some places to cheer on your favorite team to (hopefully) victory.

Located on Manayunk's busiest street, The Bayou Bar and Grill has been home to great daily specials and multiple TVs for the basketball fan since 1993. The Bayou is also famous for its $5 lunch, offered every Monday through Friday. On Fridays, if you come between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., you'll enjoy $1 drinks or $2 drinks between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Other specials include the $5 burger, 25-cent wings and $1.75 Miller Lite bottles. You can't get much better than cheap food, drinks and basketball.

Landmark Americana is in University City and attracts many Drexel University fans. Come in with a Drexel Dragon ticket stub and you'll receive a 10-percent discount. Didn't make it to the game? Landmark Americana has a ton of TVs and will put on any game you ask for – there isn't a bad view in the house. It also has great daily specials with $2 to $3 drinks (margaritas, well drinks, Blue Moon pints) and 50-cents wings. The menu features delicious sandwiches, appetizers, bread bowls and many gluten-free options.

As a sports bar, live music venue and restaurant, Pub Webb is a welcome addition to Templeton for locals, students and faculty. It is in close proximity to Temple University's main campus (only half a block away) and opens early for all Temple games and events. The menu is full of American comfort pub food (tacos, burgers, hand cut fries), but make sure you try the wings. In fact, every Thursday is wing night where you get three wings for $1 and $1 Bud Lights. The kitchen is open until 1 a.m. every day.

Located at South Philly's most famous intersection, 9th and Passyunk, South Philly Bar and Grill constantly tops both local and national lists as one of the best sports bars. With plenty of high-definition TVs and a large projection screen hanging on the walls, you won't miss any of the action of your favorite college team. Even though it's directly next to Pat's and Geno's, you'll want to eat here. Try one of the bar's cheesesteaks, grilled wings, the snow crab or the mussels.
