North Philadelphia shooting leaves pizza delivery driver dead, police say

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A pizza delivery driver was shot six times and killed in North Philadelphia during an alleged robbery on Thursday night, police said. 

The shooting happened on the 2000 block of Ridge Avenue at around 9:20 p.m., according to police.

The man was shot inside a vehicle outside of Pete's Pizza and was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 9:30 p.m.

Police identified him as 29-year-old Danny Matthews.

No arrests were made and no weapons were recovered at this time.
