Muggy conditions continue in Philadelphia region Wednesday, spotty storms possible

Flash flood warning in Philadelphia area with more rainy weather coming up

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A flash flood warning is in effect in parts of the Philadelphia area until 4:15 p.m. Wednesday as downpours could produce flood conditions in poor drainage areas.

Some parts of the region have already picked up an inch of rain. While we are not expecting anything widespread, slow-moving areas of heavy rain mean localized flooding may affect some areas.

The muggy air and unsettled weather pattern kicked up a bit on Wednesday with mostly cloudy skies, temperatures in the 80s and off-and-on showers and storms.

The city could see some scattered, light rain throughout the morning, with stronger storms possible along the shore points.

Showers could pick up in intensity around noon in South Jersey and Delaware, while Lehigh Valley and Bucks County areas could get some more rain later around 4-6 p.m.

Dew points are back in the 70s, so it'll feel quite muggy Wednesday. That pattern continues again Thursday, with a greater chance for storms during the evening as a front pushes through, adding extra energy for Mother Nature to work with.

On Friday, conditions finally start to feel better as dew points drop heading into the weekend. The region will see plenty of sunshine in the area and humidity levels will be fairly low for this time of year.

Plan your outdoor weekend activities! By Sunday we may get back into the 90-degree range.
