Peter King: If Mariota Falls, Kelly Will Pursue Aggressively
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Chip Kelly scoffed at the idea of Marcus Mariota becoming an Eagle. One day later, NFL analyst and Sports Illustrated writer Peter King, thinks it's still a possibility.
"I don't think he's completely out on Mariota," King said Thursday on the 94WIP Morning Show. "In my opinion, if---somehow---if Mariota gets to eight, 10, 12 somewhere right in there. There's no question in my mind that Chip Kelly will try aggressively to get him."

King talked about how Aaron Rodgers fell to No. 24 in the 2005 draft, giving the Packers no choice.
"He's not gonna mortgage the future to try to get him," King continued, "But if this is an Aaron Rodgers situation ten years later I think that Chip Kelly will be sitting there waiting to pounce."
King, however, admitted he does not think Mariota makes it past No. 3, suspecting the Tennessee Titans will have strong interest at No. 2.
"I do not think that's going to be the case," King said. "There's too many teams at the top of this draft, starting with Tennessee at No. 2---and do not dismiss Tennesse's interest. They're very interested in Mariota. I think he gets picked in the top two or three somehow, someway. And I think Chip is right. I don't think Philly has the ammunition or the stomach to get up that high."
