Owners Pistol-Whipped During Armed Robbery Of West Philly Restaurant
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are searching for two suspects who pistol-whipped the owners of a restaurant during a robbery early Monday morning.
The incident happened at about 1 a.m. at the Hualai Chinese Restaurant in the 5100 block of Walnut Street in West Philadelphia.
According to investigators, the owner of the restaurant was returning from making a delivery when he was forced to the back of the business, along with his wife, by two armed suspects.
During the ordeal, authorities say the suspects pistol-whipped both the husband and his wife.
The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene in a black car.
The husband and wife were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where they are both listed in stable condition.
