Police still looking for thieves in Philadelphia International Airport car robberies

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police asked for the public's help Friday in looking for several people caught on surveillance camera stealing several rental cars at gunpoint near the Philadelphia International Airport.

Deputy Police Commissioner of Investigations Frank Vanore said investigators believe 35 incidents, going back to January, are connected. Thursday, the department released surveillance video of a person pointing a gun at a parking garage attendant. The video was from Thursday, May 11 at a rental car facility near the airport.

He said officers found 29 cars, but are looking for 23 more. Venore said the police are also still looking for the thieves.

"We have made a few arrests, but they were just individuals who were just driving these vehicles. We're hoping we can figure out who the individuals are that are stealing them."

Venore asked if you recognize anyone in the video, to call the Philadelphia Police Tipline at (215) 686-TIPS (8477).
