One More Day of US Flight Cancellations To and From Tel Aviv

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The FAA has extended its ban on US flights to Tel Aviv until at least 4:15pm (ET) tomorrow.

The restrictions were put into place yesterday after a missile fell a mile from Israel's main airport (see related story).

At Philadelphia International Airport, there is normally one direct flight inbound and one outbound per day to Tel Aviv, on US Airways.

In a written statement, the airline says that, if approved by the FAA, service will resume tomorrow night to Tel Aviv.  The airline says the next flight from Israel to Philadelphia should arrive Friday morning.

US Airways says a "flexible" ticketing policy to Tel Aviv will remain in place through August.  Customers who choose to change their travel plans can do so without change fees.

The flight ban only applies to American carriers.  Israel's national airline, El Al, is maintaining its regular flight schedule worldwide, including its USA-Israel flights.

Last night, former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg flew El Al out of the Big Apple in an expression of solidarity with the citizens of Israel.
