Philadelphia Police Officer Killed In Roxborough Car Accident

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An off-duty Philadelphia Police Sergeant is dead following a car crash around midnight Saturday.
Police say it happened in Roxborough in the Winding section on the 6100 block of Henry Avenue near Dupont.
Philadelphia Police identified the man as 10 year police veteran Sergeant Rafael Ali.
Sergeant Ali crashed his Dodge Ram truck into a tree. Police say no other vehicles were involved in the crash, but Ali's truck was said to be badly damaged.
The Sergeant was the only person in the vehicle and was rushed to Einstein Hospital where police confirmed he was dead.
His supervisors say he was a father, dedicated to his job and to his community.
