PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The hot weather didn't stop thousands of people from flocking to the 7th annual 2nd Street Festival in Philadelphia's Northern Liberties section on Sunday.

It's an event that offers something for people of all ages and many who took part said they couldn't think of a better way to spend a lazy summer Sunday.

"We're out here to listen to some great music," said one woman, "get some great food and be amidst the culture."

The music, the vibe, I can buy my way through all these little stands and come home with a suitcase full of souvenirs," said another woman. "I love it."

The vendors had everything from food and clothing to jewelry and games.

Designer Gerald Lawson from Brewerytown brought his Dingy Brand clothing line to the event each of the last three years. He said he loves the feedback he gets from the people who come to his stand.

"Everybody likes the logo," Lawson said. "Each year we've gotten bigger and bigger and bigger, and the crowd has gotten bigger.

The event raises money for the Northern Liberties community.
