North NJ Man Killed By NJ Transit Commuter Train

GLEN ROCK, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Transit says a man was struck and killed by a train in northern New Jersey.

The accident occurred around 6:50 p.m. Friday in Glen Rock.

Authorities say 61-year-old borough resident Edmund Schuck ducked under a crossing gate at Rock Road shortly before he was struck.

NJ Transit spokeswoman Nancy Snyder said there were 450 passengers on the Main Line commuter train, which was heading to Port Jervis, N.Y. No one aboard the train was injured, and the passengers were transferred to another train to complete their journey.

NJ Transit said the accident and subsequent investigation caused scattered delays in the region on Friday night.
