Nor'easter Bringing Heavy Rain, High Winds And Coastal Flooding
By Geoff Bansen
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- After a soaking morning across much of the Delaware Valley, many locations are beginning to catch a bit of a break. Heavy precipitation along the coast continues to spin up towards the northeast, leaving a lull across the Philadelphia suburbs, southern New Jersey, and Delaware. However, high winds and coastal flooding will continue to present problems this afternoon. A Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 1 PM this afternoon.
As far as the precipitation goes, the brunt is no longer a large issue. The Poconos are not out of the woods just yet though. As colder air moves in tonight, any rain to the far north will change to snow, and that is why a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 PM Wednesday.
Some rain and snow showers could make their way as far south as Philadelphia tomorrow, but it certainly is shaping up to be a drier day than today! The next two days should feature more clouds than anything else; this area of low pressure is going to take it's sweet time to move away. The sun will forces it's way back into the picture by Friday, filtered in with lingering clouds. By the weekend, it should be the more dominant figure. Temperatures will be turning milder as well; after a week hanging around 40, we are expecting a return to 50 by Sunday.
