NJ Prosecutor Warns Of Possible Tainted Heroin
TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP) — Ocean County's prosecutor is warning about the possibility of tainted heroin being sold in the county with a distinctive logo on it.
Prosecutor Joseph Coronato says that police responding to an emergency at a home in Stafford Township last Saturday found a deceased 18-year-old male. Officers found several baggies with a picture of the "Hello Kitty" character stamped on them.
The county's lab tested the white powdery substance and found it to be composed almost completely of Fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opiate, along with an unidentified cutting agent.
Coronato urges anyone with information regarding people selling the drug with the "Hello Kitty" stamp to contact the Ocean County prosecutor's office.
