NJ Police Officer Charged With Sexual Assault, Harassment

BRIDGETON, NJ (CBS) -- A Bridgeton, New Jersey police officer has been charged with sexual offenses.

Cumberland County prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McCrae confirms that Bridgeton Police Sgt. Luis Santiago was charged Thursday with 4th degree sexual contact, and harrassment/offensive touching.

Citing the ongoing investigation, she declined to reveal when the alleged offenses took place, and the circumstances under which they occurred.

A statement posted on the Bridgeton Police Department's Facebook page says that Santiago has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, and that there'd be no further comment.
