New Jersey Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Teen Girl During Driving Lesson

TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP) — Authorities have charged a registered high-risk sex offender in New Jersey of sexually assaulting a teen during a driving lesson.

Jason Walsh, 42, of Bayville, knew the 16-year-old girl, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.

Walsh is required to wear a GPS tracking device as a Tier 3 Megan's Law registrant. Police used that information to determine Walsh was at the location during the time and day where the girl reported the alleged incident took place.

Walsh was convicted in 2004 of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl, according to the state's sex offender database. Walsh offered babysitting services to access children between 1982 and 1988, the database said.

Walsh was charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He was ordered held on $150,000 bail.
