New Jersey Committee Looks At Sandy Recovery Oversight
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- A state Assembly committee is planning to look into New Jersey's oversight of Superstorm Sandy rebuilding and recovery programs.
The State and Local Government committee is scheduled to hold a hearing on the matter Monday afternoon.
Gov. Chris Christie signed a measure last year that creates integrity monitors to oversee disaster relief programs following the 2012 storm.
Some activists have expressed frustration that no audits have been produced so far.
The issue of how the state has awarded aid money has become a focus, particularly for Democrats critical of Gov. Chris Christie's administration.
