New Chairman, New CEO for Delaware River Port Authority
By David Madden
CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- A couple of changes at the top of the Delaware River Port Authority took effect today.
Pennsylvania lieutenant governor Jim Cawley was sworn in this morning as chairman of the bi-state agency, replacing David Simon.
"I am somebody who believes quite strongly that problems very quickly become opportunities so long as men and women of good will put forward their best effort," Cawley said today.
Simon, a Main Line attorney, had been board chair for about three years.
The DRPA also has a new CEO: John Hanson (photo below), who was DRPA chief financial officer for ten years but has been serving in the chairman job since John Matheussen left in January for a seat on New Jersey Superior Court (see related story).

Five people, including Hanson, were interviewed for chairman's job earlier this month as part of a national search. Hanson will earn $180,000 a year in his new position as CEO.
