Nationals Sign Kevin Frandsen
JUPITER, Fla. (AP) — The Washington Nationals have signed utilityman Kevin Frandsen to a major league contract for one year worth $900,000.
The 32-year-old Frandsen was cut earlier this spring by Philadelphia. He brings major league experience at all four infield positions and both corner outfield spots.
Frandsen is a career .259 hitters in seven seasons with the Phillies, Angels and Giants. He led the majors in pinch hits last year with 14 for the Phillies.
"It's important for your team to have guys that can move around and that are experienced in that regard and have done it," Washington manager Matt Williams said prior to Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
