Man Charged With Murder After Shooting At Atlantic City's Tanger Outlets

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) -- Authorities have announced charges against a man they say shot and killed an employee at the The Walk at the Tanger Outlets in Atlantic City on September 1.

Police identified the suspect as Luis Maisonet, 55, of Somers Point.

Officials say that around noon, on September 1, police responded to the Zumiez store at the Tanger Outlets. Authorities say Christopher Romero, 26, was found at the location, suffering from gunshot wounds.

They say Maisonet was located across the street and was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

Both men were taken to the hospital and Romero was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police say, according to their investigation, Maisonet entered Zumiez, shot Romero, left the scene, pointed the gun at another person and then shot himself.

Officials announced that Maisonet has been charged with murder, aggravated assault and other related charges in connection to the incident.
