PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A motorcyclist is now in custody after leading police on a chase on the Schuylkill Expressway overnight. It ended after police say the suspect crashed in Plymouth Meeting, Montgomery County.

The pursuit began just after 12 a.m. Sunday along westbound I-76 at City Avenue when state police say they tried to pull a motorcyclist over for speeding. But authorities say he didn't stop, and the chase was on.

The chase stretched for miles from the Schuylkill Expressway to the Blue Route and finally ending in Plymouth Meeting. Authorities say it was near Germantown Pike and Chemical Road where the suspect crashed into a ravine.

Authorities say he was taken to Paoli Hospital to get checked out but is now in custody, facing charges for eluding police.
