Morning Rain Will Slow Commute

By Kathy Orr

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  A powerful storm that brought flooding rain, damaging winds, hail and tornadoes to the Midwest, will impact our morning commute.

The good news is, it has weakened considerably.

Our biggest threat is downpours, that will cause some street and poor drainage flooding.

I expect rain amounts of a half inch to an inch, (.5-1") and our rivers and creeks can handle that!

The heaviest rain will arrive by 3am and continue through 6am.

Between 6am and 8am the rain will taper, clearing the coast by 10am.

The best chance of thunderstorms with gusty winds will be south and east of Philadelphia, in South Jersey and Delaware.

Once this storm is out of here, we are in for a stretch of sunny, beautiful weather.

Friday will be Sunny and Warm, the high around 80 degrees.

Saturday and Sunday highs will be in the 80's with lots of sunshine.
