Millersville University To Provide Transportation For Students To Slain Freshman's Funeral

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania university is providing transportation for students to attend the funeral of a freshman found dead early Sunday inside a campus dormitory.

Services for Millersville University student Karlie Hall will be held Saturday at a chapel in her native Kennett Square, outside Philadelphia.

The 18-year-old's boyfriend is charged with homicide after an autopsy showed signs Hall suffered multiple injuries from a beating and had been strangled.

Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman says Gregorio Orrostieta didn't mention strangulation when he told police he shoved Hall and hit her with the back of his hand.

He says Hall fought for her life.

The two had been dating for about 11 months. Orrostieta isn't a student at the public university near Lancaster.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 19.
