Messy Mix Of Precipitation Across The Delaware Valley

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- At this time, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon and Monroe Counties.

A messy mix of precipitation is falling across the Delaware Valley this morning. Although it is mostly in the form of rain, cold air on the backside is trying to force it's way in, leading to some pockets of mixing and snow. Accumulation is not expected as rain should take complete control over the next few hours, not to mention the precipitation being on the lighter side. Roads will still be slick, so use caution when driving.

Highs will hover in the upper 30s to around 40 this afternoon and will actually continue to rise after sunset, setting the tone for a milder day on Wednesday. Highs are expected to be above average, and other than a few early showers, the day should be mainly dry. The sun might even break through he clouds later in the afternoon. Another front moves through late Wednesday but lacking in moisture. Once that clears out, temperatures will fall a bit, but Thursday sets up to be the nicest day of the week in terms of sunshine.
