Medical Profession Making Impersonal Transition To Tech

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Have you noticed that your doctor might be spending more time looking at the computer than looking at you during your appointment? It is probably because the medical world is shifting into one where your doctor needs to document all sorts of things to meet external regulation standards that affect how he or she is paid.
This is not all bad because some of the information entered by computer can be used to take data and help make decisions that impact care.
As for the time looking at the computer, it will get better. Right now your doctor has all sorts of boxes to click to fill out but eventually the technology will catch up and doctors will be dictating more and more with voice recognition technology.
Unfortunately, while the business and entertainment world might be doing this already, medicine needs to catch up.
