Man Wielding Syringe Robs Woman Inside North Philadelphia Take-Out Restaurant

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are searching for a man who allegedly used a syringe to rob a woman at a Chinese restaurant in North Philadelphia.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday inside Eddie's Chinese Restaurant in the 100 block of East Allegheny Avenue.

Authorities say a 32-year-old woman was waiting for her food when she was approached by a man pointing a blood-filled syringe at her. The man allegedly claimed to have AIDS and demanded the woman's money.

Police say the victim gave the suspect $200 in cash and then the man ran from the store.

No was injured during the robbery.

Investigators describe the suspect as a Hispanic man, 30-35 years-old with a dark complexion, wearing a blue hoodie and Adidas track pants.
