Man Uses Hypodermic Needle During Robbery Of Center City Dunkin' Donuts
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who used a hypodermic needle as a weapon during the robbery of a downtown donut shop.
The robbery happened shortly before 7 a.m. on September 21st at the Dunkin' Donuts in the 800 block of Chestnut Street.
Surveillance video shows the suspect entering the store and initially talking with two female employees inside the store.
Eventually the suspect went behind the counter and grabbed one of the employees by the arm. The suspect threatened to stab the employee with the needle if she did not open the cash register or if she tried to call police.
After struggling with the employees, the suspect eventually opened the register himself and took an undisclosed amount of cash before running out of the store.
The employees were not physically injured during the altercation.

The suspect is described as a white male, 30 years-of-age, 5'8″-5'9″ with a thin to medium build. He was wearing a gray-hooded sweatshirt with logos on the front and back, black Adidas sweatpants with white colored tri-stripes down the sides of both legs, and bright yellow or green colored sneakers.
Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to call 911.
