Police Arrest Man In Connection To Robbery Attempt In Which Suspect Was Shot

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Authorities say a Philadelphia 28-year-old man shot and wounded a 22-year-old man who was trying to rob him at gunpoint.

The shooting occurred around 12:10 a.m. Thursday in the 2100 block of Stenton Avenue in the city's West Oak Lane section.

Authorities say Osiris Lester, who was allegedly armed with a gun, tried to rob a man but the alleged victim pulled out his own gun and shot Lester, hitting him in the wrist.

Police say Lester ran to a nearby fast-food restaurant but was arrested there a short time later. He was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center for treatment and listed in stable condition.

Lester faces robbery, simple assault and other related charges.
