Police Believe Same Suspect Responsible For Two Early Morning Stabbings In Center City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are investigating after they say two people were stabbed in Center City Tuesday morning.

The first stabbing happened around 23rd and Walnut Streets and the second happened at 21st and Arch Streets.

Authorities say a man in his twenties was stabbed in the hands and stomach. He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital and is in stable condition.

In the second incident, police say the suspect started cursing at the victim before cutting him in the face.

Medics transported the victim to Hahnemann. He is also in stable condition.

Police believe the same suspect is responsible for both stabbings.

Authorities describe the suspect as a black male, 6'2", in his late twenties. Police say he was wearing a gray hoodie and a dark vest. He was also carrying a white shopping bag.

Police ask anyone with information to call 911.
