Man Shot Dead After Argument Leads To Gunfire In North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are searching for the person who shot and killed a man overnight in North Philadelphia.

It happened around 2 a.m. Saturday along the 2100 block of West Indiana Avenue.

Police say the incident began as an argument between two groups of people. During the argument, three men were chased by someone with gun who opened fire and struck one of them, a 20-year-old, in the back multiple times.

Officers arrived to find the other two men trying to get the victim into the back seat of a vehicle. Police rushed the victim to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

No one else was injured in the shooting

No arrests have been made.

The identity of the victim was being withheld, pending notification of his family.
