Man Held After Children Were Reported Missing Returns To Delaware

SMYRNA, Del. (AP) — Delaware State Police say a man arrested in Indiana after he and his two missing children were found has been brought back to Delaware.

Troopers said Friday that Cortez A. Hamilton had waived an extradition hearing in Indiana and was returned to Delaware on Thursday. He is charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of first-degree assault.

Hamilton's children, 4-year-old Colette Hamilton and infant Cortez Hamilton Jr., were found Jan. 10 in southwest Indiana. Authorities said they were safe and in good condition.

The children's mother, 35-year-old Keisha Hamilton, was last seen with them Jan. 9 at their Smyrna home. Police in both states are still looking for the missing woman.
