Man Faces Murder Charge In Deadly Toms River Shooting
TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP) — Murder charges have been filed against a southern New Jersey man accused of fatally shooting another man earlier this week.
Ocean County prosecutors say 26-year-old Marcus Samuels, of Bayville, also faces three weapons counts stemming from Monday's shooting of Willie Love III. They say Samuels turned himself in Friday night after learning there was a warrant for his arrest.
Samuels remained jailed Saturday on $1 million bail.
In a related matter, prosecutors say 21-year-old Jennifer Rauscher, of Bayville, is charged with hindering the apprehension of Samuels for allegedly providing false information to detectives investigating the shooting. She was arrested Friday afternoon and was freed after posting $100,000 bail.
A motive for the shooting of Love, a 27-year-old Bayville resident, has not been disclosed.
