Man stabs girlfriend to death, repeatedly stabs himself in neck: Lower Makefield police
LOWER MAKEFIELD, Pa. (CBS) -- A man is in custody after police say he fatally stabbed his girlfriend in Bucks County, Lower Makefield police confirmed to CBS News Philadelphia Friday night.
Police said they arrived on the 2500 block of Waterford Road at around 2:30 p.m. Friday for a report of a burglary. Officials with the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said the officers were told it was a domestic incident.
Upon arrival, officials said they saw a 23-year-old man tackle his 19-year-old girlfriend to the ground and repeatedly stab her. The boyfriend then fled and jumped a fence onto I-295.
While evading police, the 23-year-old repeatedly stabbed himself in the neck, the DA's Office said in a news release.
Police took the 19-year-old woman to the hospital where she died from her injuries.
The man was taken into custody after being tased by police. Officials said Saturday that he is expected to survive and will later face criminal charges.
Lower Makefield police and the Bucks County DA's Office are investigating the case.
