Lottery Ticket Worth More Than $5 Million Sold In Montgomery County

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) – Someone in the Philadelphia area could be holding a jackpot-winning Match 6 lottery ticket worth more than $5-million dollars.
The jackpot had been building in value since late December -- and now comes word from the Pennsylvania Lottery that a still-unidentified person or group matched all six winning numbers (11-21-26-35-39-41) in Monday night's drawing. Spokesman Gary Miller says the lucky ticket was sold at Weis Market on West German town Pike in Norristown, Montgomery County.
"The more than $5-million dollar jackpot-winning ticket was the fourth largest jackpot on record for the game," says Miller. "The largest jackpot on record for Match 6 was a $7.3-million prize and that was won by a player in Cambria County last Fall."
The lucky winner has one year to step forward and claim the prize. Lottery officials cannot confirm the identity of the jackpot winner until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated.
Weis Market will receive $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.
Meanwhile, Miller says lottery officials are still waiting for three local-winning Powerball tickets to be claimed, each worth $1-million.
One ticket dates back to October 5, 2013. It was sold at a Giant Supermarket in Royersford. Another was sold in Bryn Mawr at Sunoco A-Plus on Christmas Day, and the third was sold in March at a BP gas station in Broomall.
