Local Man Charged By Indictment With Pirating Movies And TV Shows

LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. (CBS) – According to the United States Attorney David Memeger, a local man has been charged with smuggling goods into the United States, trafficking in counterfeit labels and criminal copyright infringement.

According to the indictment, Brian Bethman, of Lafayette Hill, smuggled in more than 6,000 audiovisual copies of movies and television shows that were copyright protected.

He has been charged with seven counts of smuggling goods, one count of trafficking in counterfeit labels and one count of criminal copyright infringement.

If convicted, Bethman faces a possible sentence of 30 years in prison.
