Local Group's Campaign Helps ID Domestic Violence At Its Core

By Kim Glovas

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and a local organization is kicking off the 8th Annual iPledge Campaign next week.

Jeannine Lisitski, Executive Director of Women Against Abuse, says this year, a city-wide strategic plan will be unveiled to respond to domestic violence. She says that plan allows a lot of groups to have a collective impact approach:

"That just means that we have shared goals, that we have shared data and that we have shared communications and it's gonna allow us to achieve much more than if we were each trying to do it alone."

The campaign will also present a tool kit, which will include frequently asked questions about domestic violence, email templates, different graphics and other information, so groups can do their own DV screenings.

The campaign actually kicks off on Thursday. More information is available here.
