Lindenwold's White Horse Road Bridge Closed As Emergency Repairs Planned

LINDENWOLD, N.J. (CBS) -- As if riders on the Patco High Speed Line didn't have enough problems with the rail-replacement project on the Benjamin Franklin Bridge (see related story), now there are concerns about a span operated by Camden County that takes drivers over the tracks near the Lindenwold station.
Officials closed the White Horse Road bridge near Route 30 after inspectors noted a pair of failed girders under the span caused the road to dip more than it should.
Camden County freeholder Ian Leonard says they're looking into just how big a problem they've got.
"The early indication is that the bridge has to be replaced, but that is the early indication. They're going to do some further inspection to give us some more indication of where we need to be."
Assuming a new span is needed, he figures it'll take a minimum of eight months maybe more than a year to get everything done.
Twenty-four thousand drivers use that bridge every day. If you're one of them and you haven't found an alternate route, now would be a good time.
