LeBron James: 'I'm The Best Player In The World'

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The best basketball player in the world is starring at elimination.

Is he worried?

"I feel confident because I'm the best player in the world," LeBron James said following his monstrous 40-point, 14-rebound and 11-assist performance for his second NBA Finals triple-double (second player to ever record multiple triple-doubles in two different NBA Finals). "It's that simple."

James and his Cleveland Cavaliers find themselves down three games to two after Golden State's 104-91 win in Sunday night's Game 5 of the NBA Finals. James poured in the aforementioned 40-point triple double, becoming the only other player to accomplish that feat since Jerry West in 1969. That year, West won the Finals MVP despite his Lakers losing the series. That was the last time the Finals MVP did not win the championship.

James, who is averaging 36 points, 12.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists in the series, has a strong case for Finals MVP even if he loses his fourth NBA Finals. In Cleveland's Game 5 loss, James scored or assisted on an unfathomable 77-percent of his team's points in Game 5, including 16 out of 17 first half baskets.

Game 6 of the NBA Finals between the Cavs and Warriors is Tuesday night at 9 p.m. E.T. back in Cleveland.
