Knights Of Columbus Printing 350,000 Programs For Papal Mass
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — When Pope Francis leads a Mass in Philadelphia later this month, the crowd will be following along with programs made in Connecticut by the Knights of Columbus.
The Catholic men's organization is printing 350,000 programs at its New Haven plant for the papal Mass on Sept. 27. Production began last Friday and is expected to be complete this Friday. The group is donating its services, which would be valued at more than $100,000.
Knights of Columbus officials say they were asked to print the programs by organizers of the pope's visit, who liked the booklet the organization made for its annual meeting in Philadelphia last month.
The 24-page program for the papal Mass contains prayers, readings and music for the service and includes portions in English, Greek, Spanish and Vietnamese.
