Explore the Pocono Mountains with Kittatinny Canoes

You don't have to be a novice watersport athlete to fully enjoy the Delaware River. With a rich history, Kittatinny Canoes was the pioneer of canoeing in the upper and lower Delaware National Park 80 years ago. They have since expanded water activities to everyone on every level. In addition to canoeing, they offer kayaking, tubing, rafting and good 'ole swimming if that's more your style.

Amidst the Pocono Mountains, Kittatinny Canoes operates 60 miles of the Delaware River containing class 1 and 2 rapids making it enjoyable for first-timers and families alike. Take note, their most popular trip is rafting. There are day trip options that allow access to the river from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and every trip is self-guided. They give you thorough instructions as to where to start and stop after a safety speech.

You are welcome to take a break along your journey to enjoy the scenery and wildlife. The river is pristine as Kittatinny Canoes partakes in "Picking Up the Poconos" during their river cleanups. They are proud to say they have collected almost 1,000 tons of trash over the past 30 years!

However, before hitting the water, life jackets are a must regardless of how deceivingly calm the water appears or how well of a swimmer one is. This is Kittatinny Canoes' non-negotiable. Simply, lifejackets save lives.

Of course, you have the option to stay overnight. Kittatinny Canoes is a campground site offering three different options of accommodations.

On their Milford site, Kittatinny Canoes hosts 162 campsites, 3 cabins and an RV campground. Their cabins are fully equipped with updated amenities including a full kitchen, private bedrooms, bathrooms with standup showers, air conditioning and Wi-Fi. They are spotless. The RVs have a full hookup option if you prefer. And, of course, with your overnight stay, you have full access to the water activities.

Forget something? Don't worry, Kittatinny has thought of it all with their on-site store. Available items range from ice cream to tents and everything in between. There is an open recreation and picnic area so feel free to bring entertainment from home.

Located in the charming town of Milford, you can take a quick drive to enjoy the main street, shows, shopping, restaurants and even their new wine bar.

So, whether you're seeking a day of canoeing or an immersive camping experience, Kittatinny Canoes delivers an unforgettable escape into the great outdoors. Like I said, there is something for everyone.
