Denver Broncos Kicker A Montco Native, Temple Owl, SB Champion
LANSDALE, Pa., (CBS) -- Lansdale native Brandon McManus is the Denver Broncos kicker, and played in Super Bowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers Sunday.
Brandon grew up in Lansdale in Montgomery County and attended North Penn High School. His parents Susan and Dennis, and most of Brandon's family, flew out to San Francisco, to watch him play in his first Super Bowl game.

"We are just so proud of him, you know - we are excited for this opportunity, to make it in his second year of the NFL," his mother, Susan said. "We are ecstatic."
The star kicked played football in high school, but started his "kicking" career in 7th grade as a soccer player. The 24-year-old went onto to be the first freshman to make the varsity football team, in North Penn history. Several top colleges sought the young player, but he chose to be a Temple University Owl.
"He loved Al Golden and Matt Rhule, and love the coaches there. And had a great experience living in Philadelphia, and embraced the city life, he loved it," said Susan.

Brandon went on to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, and was planning to go to medical school. But the NFL came calling, and he was drafted to the Indianapolis Colts and eventually ended up with the Denver Broncos in 2014.
His mother says, it was the right decision.
"We're ecstatic, we are happy for him, he's blessed," said his mother.
"We're ecstatic but we are also nervous for him every time he kicks," said his father, Dennis.
On Friday, North Penn High School held a 'Brandon McManus Day', where they celebrated their alum, and sold t-shirts in his honor. All the proceeds will be donated to the McManus Anti-Bullying Foundation.
