Key Match Tonight For Union As They Host Red Bulls

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- After settling for a frustrating tie against Colorado on Saturday, the Philadelphia Union will be home again tonight as they entertain New York.

What made the draw with the Rapids so frustrating is the fact that Philadelphia had a 3-1 lead after an Andrew Wenger goal in the 74th minute, and looked to be headed towards a victory. But Colorado scored twice late to draw even and cost the Union two points.

The sting of Saturday will continue into tonight as the Union will be without midfielders Amobi Okugo and Michael Lahoud because of red cards they were assessed during and (in Okugo's case) after the match.

Philadelphia sits at 4-8-7 for the season and with 19 points they are tied for 7th in MLS Eastern Conference. New York is 5-5-8 and right now they hold the fifth and final playoff spot in the East with their 23 points.

This is the second meeting between these two rivals this season. Red Bulls won the first, 2-1, back on April 16th at Red Bull Arena. Philadelphia's only goal that night came courtesy of a Sebastien Le Toux penalty kick.

This is a busy week for the Union. In addition to tonight's match, the Union also have a road match on Saturday in Chicago against the Fire.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Union play-by-play voice J.P. Dellacamera about the match-up.
