Hundreds Turn Out For Kevin Hart Day In Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Hundreds flocked to Broad and Erie on Thursday to celebrate one of Philadelphia's own: comedian, actor, and blockbuster superstar Kevin Hart.
Hart now has an image that the neighborhood can look up to.
Kevin Hart celebrated his 38th birthday in front of hundreds of fans.

His gift, a monument by Mural Arts Philadelphia. His smiling image painted on north wall of Max's Steaks.
"This is honestly the biggest honor that I have gotten in my career to date," said Hart.
Hart grew up at 15th and Erie and has since done stand up comedy, starred in movies, penned a book, and brought a billion dollars to the box office.
But Hart attributes his success to a tight circle and Philly roots.
"I think I get the strength and the ability to deal with all the things I deal with, positive or negative, because of my upbringing and surroundings," he said.

City Council issued a resolution making July 6th Kevin Hart Day. Councilman David Oh says he never forgets where he came from.
"He comes back and makes his films here. He identified himself as a Philly guy, said Oh.
Hart also received state citations, a liberty bell, a Phillies' jersey, a birthday cake, and performances by Freeway.
