Accident Snarls Traffic On NJ Turnpike Southbound Near Mount Laurel; 2 Injured

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., (CBS) – Authorities say an accident involving a truck and a tractor trailer snarled traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike during rush hour Monday night.

New Jersey State Police say the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes near mile post 35 in Mount Laurel Township, Burlington County.

All southbound lanes were shut down for about 45 minutes as police, firefighters and medics responded to the scene.

Chopper 3 showed traffic backed up for miles.

Dispatch officials tell CBS 3 there were two minor injuries.

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority reports the left shoulder was opened to traffic around 7:15 p.m.

Drives should expect delays in the area.
