Flyers Host Tampa Tonight To Wrap Up Homestand

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Flyers will look to wrap up what has already been a very successful home-stand tonight as they host the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Philadelphia is 4-1-0 through five games of this six-game home-stand. They hammered Columbus, 6-0, last time out on Saturday. Despite this surge, they remain on the outside looking in at the playoff race in the Eastern Conference. Flyers with 71 points, that leaves them four points out of the final playoff spot right now.

Tampa Bay has 82 points and that has them alone in first place in the Atlantic Division.

This will be the second of three meetings between these two teams this season. The first was back on Opening Night, the Flyers losing in overtime down in Tampa, 3-2, on October 8th. The two teams wrap up their season-series Friday in Tampa.

Steve Mason gets the start in net for the Flyers.
