Hillary Clinton Speaks At Philly Church

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It looks like Hillary Clinton stayed in Philadelphia after Katy Perry's Get Out The Vote concert last night at The Mann Center. The Democratic presidential candidate made a surprise stop at a local church to give a speech.

Clinton took to the pulpit and addressed those gathered at Mt Airy Church of God in Christ this afternoon in the West Oak Lane section of the city.

Clinton started by expressing her gratitude to church officials, and singled out New Jersey US Senator Corey Booker, who quoted the late Maya Angelou. Clinton said she misses the outspoken poet, who'd have a lot of choice things to say about this election.

"She famously said, 'When someone shows you who he is, believe him the first time', right?"

Clinton told the congregation that although the nation has made progress, there's more to do. And that what's been achieved is in jeopardy.

"This election is about doing everything we can to stop the movement to destroy President Obama's legacy."

She called on those gathered to vote, and to reach out to those who might need help getting to the polls, saying the stakes are too high to get it wrong on Election Day.

She also stopped by Cedar Park Cafe, chatting with diners and posing for a few photos.

Tomorrow will make Clinton's third straight day in The City of Brotherly Love as she is scheduled to appear at a rally in Philly joined by Bill and Chelsea Clinton, as well as President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama one day before Philadelphians and the rest of the country hit the polls.
