Pa. tennis instructor accused of sexually assaulting student
UPPER MAKEFIELD, Pa. (CBS) – A tennis instructor in Bucks County is accused of sexually assaulting a student. Twenty-four-year-old Hector Andres Jacome Jaramillo is facing several charges, including indecent assault against a child under 16.
Upper Makefield police say the assaults happened when the two traveled together for tennis tournaments.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the alleged assaults happened at private homes and hotels in Solebury Township, Upper Makefield Township, Florida and foreign countries, where he and the victim traveled for tennis tournaments.
Police say the allegations came to light after the victim told her mother, who contacted law enforcement. The victim's mother was too distraught to speak on camera, but she told CBS Philadelphia she fears there could be other victims.
Police say Jacome Jaramillo worked as a private tennis instructor and traveled to different facilities and camps.
According to the affidavit, the abuse began in 2020 and continued until this week, when the victim came forward to police.
After the 24-year-old suspect bonded out of jail, CBS Philadelphia went to his address in Lawrenceville to get his side of the story.
His father told CBS Philadelphia that his son doesn't want to talk.
"He's innocent," his father said.
Police say it's scary to come forward, but they're ready to assist anyone who has been a victim.
