Gov. Wolf Regroups After Setbacks on State Police and Open Records Offices

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) -- Governor Tom Wolf says he is giving up the fight over his nominee for the position of state police commissioner.
The state senate last week voted down Marcus Brown's nomination to be state police commissioner. Now, Wolf spokesman Jeff Sheridan says, Brown will continue as acting commissioner until the governor finds a new nominee, but adds that Brown is withdrawing his name from further consideration.
"It's time to move on, and the governor is focused on a budget right now and making sure that he is able to deliver a budget for the people of Pennsylvania that moves that state forward," Sheridan said.
Also, the governor has decided to reinstate Erik Arneson as head of the Office of Open Records pending an appeal of a Commonwealth Court ruling giving Arneson his job back.
Arneson will be reinstated for now despite the governor's position that the appeal automatically stayed the lower court ruling.
